Geothermal energy exhibits considerable potential as a viable solution for the provision of sustainable energy sources and the mitigation of climate change. The utilization of Earth's natural heat reserves enables the provision of an energy supply that is characterized by minimal carbon emissions. However, the successful usage of these subsurface reservoirs is contingent upon the efficient location and accessibility of such resources. The integration of resistivity imaging and vertical electric drilling presents a groundbreaking methodology for geothermal exploration. Conventional geothermal exploration necessitates a comprehensive comprehension of underlying geology and accurate identification of reservoirs. The field of geothermal development has experienced significant progress due to recent developments in resistivity technology and the implementation of innovative drilling techniques. This article examines the mutually beneficial correlation between resistivity imaging and vertical electric drilling, delving into their utility in geothermal exploration and their comparative advantages over traditional methodologies. A research endeavor was undertaken in the Aziziye region of Turkey, employing resistivity and vertical electrical drilling techniques to examine the presence of geothermal water resources. Potential geothermal zones were found as regions exhibiting near-vertical dip-slip faults within Upper Miocene-Pliocene volcanic rock formations.
