Predicting Marital Burnout Based on the Emotional Atmosphere of the Family and Emotional Failure in Married Women

The purpose of this study was the prediction of couple burnout on emotional atmosphere of the family, and alexithymia in married women. Method of study was correlational and the static population consisted of all married women of Shiraz city that ۲۰۰ students selected through cluster sampling method. Questionnaires of family environment's Mose & Mose, alexithymia scale of Toronto, and questionnaire of emotional atmosphere of the family of Pines were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics and correlation and multiple regression method were used to analyze data. The results of the regression analyze showed that the emotional atmosphere of the family and alexithymia could predict couple burnout. Couple burnout of family relationship could predict depression, but personal growth of survival of family and family system could not predict. Also, difficulties describing feelings and externally-oriented thinking could predict couple burnout positively, but difficulties identifying feelings could not predict couple burnout.
