Variations of PM<sub>۲.۵</sub> and Health Risk Assessment in Mashhad City during ۲۰۱۰-۲۰۱۸

Introduction: Air pollution is a major environmental risk factor affecting human health in both developed and developing countries. The aim of this study was survey the temporal variations of PM ۲.۵ and estimating its health effects in Mashhad City during ۲۰۱۰-۲۰۱۸. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Mashhad city residents. The data of PM۲.۵ concentrations were collected during the years ۲۰۰۸-۲۰۱۹. Data was analyzed by Excel and Air Q software. Relative was calculated by using the formula.Results: The result shows that higher concentration of PM ۲.۵ related to ۲۰۱۰. In addition, the lowest concentration of PM ۲.۵ particles was observed at ۲۰۱۵. The results of analysis showed that with increasing of each ۱۰ µg/m۳ PM ۲.۵ concentrations the value of relative risk for total death ۱۰.۴۷ percent increased. Moreover, according to AQI index result, ۲۰۱۰ is in the worst condition of PM۲.۵ particles concentration in Mashhad city.Conclusion: Overall, long-term exposure to ambient PM ۲.۵ contributed substantially to mortality in Mashhad megacity. Air pollution can be a modifiable risk factor. Appropriate sustainable control policies are recommended to protect public health.
