چکیده مقاله:
This study focuses on the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) cladding process to deposit a layer of high entropy alloys onto ductile cast iron. The objective was to investigate the impact of varying welding currents on the geometry and dilution of the cladded layer. Experimental investigations were conducted, and the results revealed a significant correlation between welding current and both dilution and geometry of the cladded layer. As welding current increases, the dilution of the cladded layer intensifies, indicating a higher degree of base metal incorporation into the high entropy alloy, which makes the chemical composition change and thus the properties of the coating layer change. This finding highlights the importance of precise control over welding parameters to achieve the desired composition and properties of the clad layer. Additionally, the wider welding bead resulting from higher welding currents demonstrates the direct impact of welding current on the geometry of the cladded area. This knowledge is necessary to optimize the coating process and provide the desired properties and performance of the coating layer. The findings from this research contribute valuable insights into enhancing the TIG cladding process and its applications in producing high entropy alloy cladded layers on ductile cast iron.
