System Identification of Electric Arc Furnace SuctionSubsystem

The suction system of electric arc furnaces (EAF)transfers dust and waste gases to the backhoes. This articleaddresses the modeling and identification of suction system ofEAF. The black box modeling is used to express the characteristicsof suction system of EAF and the model helps to analyze anddesign of EAF pressure control. In this research, the input data ofthe system is the opening percentage of the suction air valve andthe output data is the EAF pressure. The air valve position andpressure data were obtained from the electric arc furnace ofMobarakeh Steel Complex. The result is a mathematical modelthat fits the input-output data of the EAF suction system.
