the effect of Neonatal and perinatal palliative care

Background: Despite advances in both prenatal and neonatal care, newborns represent the largestsingle group of deaths among children and adolescents.The aim of this study was to investigatethe effect of Neonatal and perinatal palliative care.Materials and Methods:This review study is conducted in ۲۰۲۳ by analyzing the availablearticles in databases such as PubMed, Magiran, Scopus, Science direct. Articles were searched inthe databases from ۲۰۱۶ to ۲۰۲۳. First, ۲۳ articles related to the title were collected, and then ۱۰articles that include criteria, were selected for the final compilation.Result: Perinatal palliative care as a part of family-centered fetal care offers opportunities forexploration of goals of care and planning for value-driven medical care for the remainder of thepregnancy, during delivery, and in the neonatal period .Although the primary idea of perinatalpalliative care was presented in ۱۹۸۰, it was only noticed in recent years through the progress inthe science and technology of caring for neonates as well as the development of NICUs.Conclusions:The World Health Organisation advises to improvement of Neonatal and perinatalpalliative care through early diagnosis, precise assessment and performing comprehensive foetuscare with the aim of relief.
