Studies on incidence and pathology of neoplasms of reproductive system of cull laying

This study was performed to determine the incidence and anatomo-pathological aspects of the reproductive system tumors in commercial laying hens. Post mortem examination of ۱۰۴۱ laying hens revealed neoplasms of the ovaries and the oviduct in ۵۲ (۴.۹۹%) cases. From these, ovarian adenocarcinoma was found in ۱۴ cases, granulosa cell tumor in ۷ cases, theca cell tumor in ۱ case and Marek's disease in ۳ cases. Oviductal adenocarcinoam was observed in ۱۷ cases, adenomatosis in ۲ cases and leiomyoma in ۸ cases. The macroscopic and light microscopic characteristics of these tumors were reported in details.
