This comprehensive review article examines the significant impact of humanistic and social medical education in the fields of midwifery and nursing and emphasizes its profound impact on enhancing patient care. The integration of social and human aspects in the education of health care professionals is recognized for its central role in fostering compassionate care. This article examines the different dimensions of this education and highlights its implications, results and challenges. We discuss transforming caregivers into empathetic and culturally sensitive professionals, improving patient-provider relationships, and overall enhancing health care outcomes. In addition, we examine educational strategies, curriculum development, and assessment methods that facilitate the integration of social and human elements into health care education. This review emphasizes the increasing importance of social and humane medical education in midwifery and nursing and its potential to create transformation in patient-centered care. It serves as an invaluable resource for educators, clinicians, and policymakers seeking to cultivate a more compassionate and empathetic healthcare workforce, ultimately leading to improved patient experiences and outcomes.
