This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy group training on improving autobiographical memory in working women with depression in Tehran in ۲۰۱۸. This research was a quasi-experimental study and a pre-test-post-test with a control group. The statistical population of this study comprised all women working in schools in districts ۱, ۲, and ۳ of Tehran. The ۳۰ participants were recruited through convenience sampling and were randomly selected from among eligible women teachers who scored high on depression tests but agreed to participate in the study. According to the research design, the sample size for each experimental and control group was ۱۵ people. The protocol comprises eight weekly sessions of approximately ۹۰ minutes with an experienced clinical psychologist conducted per week in MBCT methods, and after the sessions, the research tool as a post-test was performed on the participants again. To collect the data, the Beck Depression Inventory and Autobiographical Memories test were administered to the participants. SPSS-۲۰ software was employed to analyze data. The results gained using the statistical index of analysis of covariance showed that group training of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness had been effective in improving Autobiographical memory in working women with depression. MBCT treatment reduced the severity of depressive symptoms in working women and improved AM in this study. In conclusion, this study provided empirical evidence supporting the theory underpinning MBCT. Working women need extensive training and locations where they can practice in a safe environment in their workplace.
