A NEW SPECIES OF ASTRAGALUS L. SECT. CARA GANELLA (PAPILIONACEAE) FROM IRAN

Astragalus memoriosus from the section Caraganella is described as a new species. The new species within the section Caraganella is characterized by having a tall habit ca. l۰۰ cm, long peduncle and silvery stem. A. memoriosus differs from its relative A. reshadianus in following characters: peduncle long, inflorescence ca. ۸-۱۲ cm long (not ۱.۵-۲ cm), calyx covered with appressed black and white hairs (not only white hairs) and pod glabrous (not hairy).
