چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objectives: Camelina Plant (Camelina sativa) is a strategic crop with high nutritional value due to protein and essential fatty acids which is available to grow and harvest in Iran. Its Products have uses in food industry and livestock feed. The aim of this narrative review is study of the various applications of Camelina plant in Food and alternate industries.Materials & Methods: recent published researches on databases were searched.Findings: Derivation of invaluable products from different parts of Camelina plant such as seed, root, leave and stalk is possible. Oil derived from Camelina oily seed is usable as cooking oil and alternative of imported and genetically modified (GMO) oils. Its mucilage property helps to use it as a hydrocolloid. Slag protein and essential fatty acids could be used for feed profile of livestock and fish.Conclusions: As the results of this paper, Camelina plant potential show us new horizons to supply nutritionals directly or indirectly in food supply chain for human in developing countries as Iran.
