Comparative study of two methods of virtual and face-to-face education in learning health and safety skills of elementary school students in Kurdistan province during the coronavirus pandemic

چکیده مقاله:
Background and Objective: virtual education is an active and intelligent learning that, while evolving in the process of teaching and learning and knowledge management, has played a fundamental and central role in expanding, deepening and sustaining education. The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing two methods of virtual and face-to-face education in learning health and safety skills of elementary school students in Kurdistan province during the coronavirus pandemic.Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in a semi-experimental way, with a pre- and post-test design in ۲۰۲۱-۲۰۲۲. The sample size includes first-year (۱۲۰ people) and second-year (۱۸۰ people) primary school students. The data collection tool in this research included a checklist that was created by the researcher based on demographic characteristics and questions to evaluate students' health and school safety issues using the opinions of supervisors and approved educational sciences .Results: Students consider creating more practical experience and raising the level of learning, more discipline and concentration in the class, and lack of distraction and immediate response to momentary and mental questions among the benefits of face-to-face education and electronic disruption such as power outages or internet connection, high costs and Tiredness until reaching the place of training has been considered as one of the most important disadvantages of face-to-face training. In addition, the average and standard deviation of the post-test scores of the students who received face-to-face education were higher than the average and standard deviation of the scores of the students of the virtual education group .Conclusions: The average scores in the face-to-face education group is higher and students are more willing to learn health and safety topics face-to-face. Virtual learning, as a flexible method, provides access to learning content at any time and any place for students and in emergency situations
