چکیده مقاله:

Recently, there is a significant interest among researchers in the case of oxide perovskitescharacterized by the general formula ABO۳ [۱]. Among them, CeCoO۳, known as cerium cobaltoxide perovskite, has shown great potential as a nanophotocatalyst in the conversion of organicdyes [۲]. Moreover, PbS, or lead sulfide, has emerged as a high efficient semiconductor in lightabsorption due to its favorable band gap energy )۰.۴۱eV) [۳,۴]. The CeCoO۳/PbS photocatalystwas synthesized via the hydrothermal method and characterized by FT-IR, FE-SEM, EDS, PL,and DRS analyses. The obtained results revealed successful deposition of PbS on the surface ofthe CeCoO۳ perovskite, as demonstrated by the FE-SEM images. The influence of catalyst dosage,temperature, pH, and electron acceptor toward the decolorization of methylene blue (MB) underUV light irradiation was investigated. In the presence of CeCoO۳/PbS photocatalyst the conversionpercentage achieved to ۹۸% within ۱۰ min. This enhanced photoactivity of CeCoO۳/PbS can beattributed to its lower charge recombination rate in comparison to the pure perovskite.
