Removal of Abamectine from wastewater by Fe-kaolin modified

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of photocatalytic treatment modifiedkaolin with FeCl۲ as fenton reagent in the degradation of abamectin pesticide. The results revealthat the photocatalyst performance depends on catalyst loading, pH effect, hydrogen peroxideamount, UV irradiation, abamectin concentration, and reaction time. However, removal ofabamectin is studied in the soil sample. COD and BOD۵ experiments were used to measure themineralization of abamectin and the results shows ۸۰% and ۲.۰۲ for COD and BOD۵,respectively. Catalyst is recovarable and remained catalytic activity after ۵ runs. It was foundthat the photodegradation kinetics follows pseudo-first-order kinetics. In addition, the activationenergy Ea = ۱۵۱۲.۱ KJ.mol-۱ was achieved based on the Arrhenius equation.
