چکیده مقاله:
Breast cancer, the most common cancer and the main cause ofcancer-related death in women around the world are considereda serious treatment challenge. Although breast cancer can beeasily controlled and treated in the early stages, the advancedstages of this disease are associated with a significant death rate, most metastatic breast cancer is currently incurable. Traditionaland common treatment methods such as chemotherapy, radiotherapyand surgery in the advanced stages of the disease don’t meet the treatment needs and can’t perform satisfactorily, andalso since the traditional treatments have extensive and sometimesimpossible side effects. Compensations are accompanied, they can’t be a favourable option for promoting targeted treatmentstrategies. Virotherapy with the strategy of using live virusesas a therapeutic tool is a new technique in targeted cancertreatments, despite the passage of more than a hundred yearssince the first observation that lives viruses in cancer patientscan cause cancer regression, today with the progress of cell andmolecular biology, the development of research technologiesand tools, and the progress of studies in the field of the biologyof viruses has been involved, which has created a new generationof biological cancer treatments under the name of oncolyticvirotherapy. Oncolytic virotherapy as a targeted and promisingstrategy has created a new revolution in the field of cancer treatmentmethods. Oncolytic viruses (Ovs) have a unique potentialto target cancer cells through innate or engineered means thatcan reproduce in cancer cells and by transferring and expressingengineered genes to cancer cells, they cause stimulation ofinnate immunity and adaptive immune system. The first andstrongest virus used in oncolytic virotherapy is a human adenovirus.Oncolytic adenoviruses have lived intensively investigatedand studied as a powerful anti-tumour agent due to their highability to transfer to proliferating or stationary cells with hightiter. Considering the therapeutic effectiveness, less pain, safetyand reduction of side effects and comparing the performanceof oncolytic viruses alone or in combination with conventionaltreatments, a new insight has been presented regarding the effectivenessand improvement of treatment responses in cancerpatients. The purpose of this review is to investigate the effectof oncolytic virotherapy with the help of human adenovirusesin the treatment of breast cancer, to investigate potential viralcandidates, the latest advances and achievements in the field ofoncolytic virotherapy, the performance of human adenoviruses, advantages and disadvantages and at the same time, presentingsolutions and a future vision of treatment that can satisfactorilyrespond to the challenges in breast cancer treatment
