چکیده مقاله:

Background: Lung cancer is the most common and deadlycancer in the world, which in terms of histology is divided intotwo main groups, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) andsmall cell lung cancer (SCLC). NSCLC itself is classified intothree subtypes: adenocarcinoma (ADC), squamous cell carcinoma(SSC), and large cell carcinoma (LCC). ADC, the mostcommon type of NSCLC, makes up about ۴۰% of all lung cancercases. Lung cancer is usually diagnosed in advanced stagesand the life expectancy of patients after the diagnosis is short. The use of molecular biomarkers, such as mRNAs, lncRNAsor miRNAs , is one of the emerging methods of lung cancer diagnosis. These biomolecules are stable in body fluids and havehigh specificity and sensitivity. In this study, we use microarraydata to identify and investigate differentially expressed genesin lung adenocarcinoma and introduce potential targets for lungcancer diagnosis. Methods and Results: First, for identifying differentially expressedgenes in ADC, microarray data (GSE۷۵۰۳۷) whichconsisted of ۸۳ lung adenocarcinomas and ۸۳ matched adjacentnon-malignant lung were analyzed using Limma andGEOquery packages. After determining the up-regulated genes(such as CLDN۳, FAM۸۳A and KRAS) and the down-regulatedgenes (such as ADARB۱, EDNRB and SMAD۹) the molecularpathways involved in ADC were investigated using DAVID andEnrichr. Conclusion: Analysis of microarray data allowed us to identifydifferentially expressed genes in lung adenocarcinoma, whichcan lead to developing novel diagnostic tools based on moleculartechnics to diagnose lung cancer more efficiently.
