Kite-generator is an airborne energy system capable of extracting energy from high-altitude winds, which are generally stronger and steadier than winds that are currently accessible by conventional wind turbines. Another advantage of kite-generators is the use of less material which can make them compact and portable. As a result, such systems are suitable for stand-alone power generation applications in remote areas, such as agricultural sites. However, the mentioned advantages come at the cost of a more complicated system that requires advanced control techniques for its operation. In this paper, we deal with the modeling of kite-generator systems that can facilitate their control design and performance evaluation. The model is easy to construct but still effective in capturing different aspects of the system’s performance. Using the simulator, it is shown that a %۵۰ increase in wind speed leads to %۲۴۳ more energy production during the traction phase of an off-grid kite generator system
