The effect of aerobic training with two different intensities on body composition, aerobic capacity, and salivary hormones of overweight men

Introduction: the main purpose of the present research was to study and determine the effect of aerobic power with different intensity track and field on body composition, aerobic power and salivary hormones in overweight males.Materials and Methods: ۳۵ overweight males ( with age average ۳۱.۳ +_ ۳.۷,hight ۱۷۰.۵ +_۴, weight ۷۷.۴۲+_۶.۲) were the subjects of the present research that were chosen by initial screening, randomly were divided into ۳ groups named: aerobic with high intensity (n= ۱۲) aerobic with low intensity (n=۱۲) and control (n=۱۱). Before and after of ۸ weeks exercise program body composition (WHR, BMI, fat percent and weight without fat) and salivary indexed (Cortisol, Testosterone, Lactate Dehydrogenase) were evaluated. In each group for comparing the results before and after of exercise periods, statistical t correlated test and for comparing the results of ۳ groups together, a one-way variance analysis test and Toki following test were used. Significant level of p<۰.۰۵ were determined.Results: research findings showed that between the aerobic exercise group with high intensity and the rest of the groups in Cortisol, Lactate Dehydrogenase amounts salivary and also in BMI and fat percent of body significant difference were viewed (p< ۰.۰۵). Also, significant differences between aerobic exercises with low intensity and the rest of the groups on salivary testosterone were viewed (p <۰.۰۵). It was also mentioned in all of the studying variables in the control group differences were not viewed (p>۰.۰۵)Conclusion: research results show that in overweight males, Cortisol, Lactate Dehydrogenase, BMI, and fat percent are affected by high-intensity exercises, and aerobic exercises with low power can affect on salivary testosterone.
