چکیده مقاله:

An improved proposed Sliding Mode Observer is presented (SMO) for a speed sensor less permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in wind energy conversion system (WECS), and application of a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm into a wind turbine with variable speed generator model. In general, the power efficiency is bounded by the natural aerodynamic limits. Hence, the MPPT algorithm is expected toimprove and increase the power efficiency to the maximum level within the limited boundary. The aim of this control is to extract the maximum wind power and control the power generation only by measuring phase voltages and currents. The estimated speed is used as feedback in a vector control system. The proposed control scheme is ensured without the need of using any rotor speed or wind sensors from the aspect of reliability and increase in Cost. For that, a Proposed Sliding Mode Observer is introduced to estimate the rotor speed and compared with Conventional Sliding Mode Observer from a view speed response and MPPT results. Computer simulations obtained by Matlab/Simulink are presented, and conclusions are duly drawn. Therefore, the proposed method can produce fast speed estimation and better MPPT results. Inaddition, the proposed method offers a considerableimprovement in the performanceof a sensor less vector controller at a low speed.
