Atatürk dam lake’s (Adıyaman, Turkey) epipsammic diatoms

In this study, the epipsammic algae taken from stones at a station selected from Atatürk Dam Lake in Adıyaman province in Turkey were investigated together with some physical and chemical parameters of the lake between March and November ۲۰۲۰. During this research, a total of ۳۹ taxa belonging to the epipsammic diatoms were recorded. The epipsammic diatoms showed their best growth in summer when light and temperature are high.During the study, Cymbella (۶ taxa), Gomphonema, Nitzschia (۵ taxa), Navicula, Surirella (۴ taxa) were the diatoms represented by the most species as well as being the most important ones in terms of the frequency of occurrence and the size of the populations they formed in the epipsammic diatomic community.
