Quantum Computers: Introduction, History, Applications, Recent Advances and Future Implications

Quantum computers hold the promise of solving certain computational tasks much more efficiently than traditional computers. They can now crunch data and solve problems considerably faster than they could before. While big tech companies like Microsoft, Google and IBM are making progress in quantum computing, the field is still in its early stages. Banking, transportation, and agriculture are some of the other areas that could profit from quantum computing. In this study, firstly, quantum computers and their history are described, then their extensive applications are reviewed. At last, recent developments and future implications of quantum computers are discussed. It is concluded that quantum computers can play a very significant role in improving the quality of human life in the future
