چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Due to multiple decisions, difficult access to information, the cognitive performance of employees is challenged to make appropriate decisions, these conditions lead to decision bias, which is called decision fatigue. Decision fatigue is more common among decision-making employees, especially healthcare workers who are constantly dealing with changing conditions and patients, and this has an impact on their work performance. decision fatigue temporarily reduces the quality of subsequent decisions occurs when a person makes an inappropriate decision due to fatigue from numerous previous decisions and lack of response to basic needs. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between decision fatigue and job performance and investigating factors related to it in the employees of Yazd University of Medical Sciences.Methodology: The current research is a descriptive-analytical study that was conducted in Yazd University of Medical Sciences in ۲۰۲۱. The studied community included all the employees in decision-making positions. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that included the first part of demographic information and the second part of measuring organizational performance, decision fatigue, workload and job stress. In this research, in order to measure reliability, combined reliability tests and Cronbach's alpha were used. In order to measure the validity, the average variance extracted method, confirmatory factor analysis and for nell and Larcker method were used. Research hypotheses were investigated through structural equation modeling and PLS۳ software.Findings: The results show that job stress has a significant effect on decision fatigue and decision fatigue on organizational performance. Regarding mediation hypotheses, the results showed that decision fatigue is a mediating variable in the effect of job stress on job performanceConclusion: From the results of the research, it can be concluded that fatigue affects the work performance of employees and confirming that as decision fatigue levels increase, work-performance quality decreases. It is suggested to investigate the levels of decision fatigue of employees more closely by using objective measurements so that appropriate steps can be taken to reduce the problems that may hinder the progress and productivity of employees.
