Prepartion and application of iondic liquid as atalyst is generally modifiedby a phas transition in organic reaction

Herein; we have demonstrated that treated clay with ۱- hexyl-۳-methyl immidazoliumchloride efficiently catalyze the formation of β- thiocyanohydrins and azido alcohols fromepoxides in short reaction times and in high yields under mild reaction conditions. The facilesynthesis of these materials, their benign nature, the ease of handling and the simplifiedreaction and isolation procedures make them a highly attractive alternative to currentmethodologies.
