چکیده مقاله:

One-pot transformations, particularly multi-component reactions (MCRs) are of current interest toorganic chemists because of being rapid and avoiding time consuming and costly syntheses involvingmultistep reactions, protection-deprotection steps, tedious work up and purifications [۱-۳]. Furthermore, thedevelopment of these kinds of reactions in aqueous media has greatly desirable in recent years to meetenvironmental considerations. The use of water as a sole medium for organic reactions would greatlycontribute to the expansion of environmentally friendly processes. Therefor, in recent years, much attentionhas been focused on organic reactions in water. The quinone moiety and functionalized ۴H-pyrans constitute a major class of heterocycliccompounds which are involved in wide variety of bio chemical processes including electron transport andoxidative phosphorylation [۴]. Some of their synthetic analogues displaying significant biological activitiessuch as enzyme inhibition, anticoagulant, anti cancer, anti oxidant, anti fungal, anti microbial and so on [۵-۱۱].Herein and during our continuous efforts, we report an efficient, environmentally benign synthesisof phenylbenzochromenopyrimidine based on a one-pot and three component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, barbituric acide and ۲-Hydroxynaphthoquinone in the mild reaction conditions and in aqueous media.
