Solid acid Catalysed Acetylation of Phenols and Amines

The acylation of phenols, and amines withvaried substitution using acid anhydrides is efficiently catalyzed by solidacid. Reactions proceed with.very good to excellent yield in air at room temperature, using toluene as,solvent. The bulk catalyst was easily reused withoutappreciable loss of its activity.
