چکیده مقاله:
A new class of side chain liquid crystalline polymers containing a polyindole main chain has been synthesized. Thesematerials were shown to be promising because they combine orientation behavior and useful electrical properties.Polymerization was carried out using ferric chloride or ferric perchlorate as oxidation agent. The polarity at the end ofmesogenic group plays an important role for solubility and fusibility of the polymer in the case of oxidativepolymerization. ۳-subtituted polyindol having polar group such as ester, azo and nitro at the end of mesogenic groupwas soluble in polar solvent and fusibility at higher temperature. The condition of polymerization was adjusted inorder to obtain melt processible and mesomorphic polymers. This polymer was successfully electropolymerized bycyclic voltammetry metod under ۶×۱۰-۳M of monomer,۰.۱M LiClO۴, ۲۰ ml acetonitrile, Pt working electrode andAg/AgCl reference electrode , platinum wire counter electrode conditions. The thermal properties were examined byDSC and polarized microscopic and characterized by , ۱H,۱۳C-NMR, UV-visible and FTIR spectroscopies. Roomtemperature conductivity of the ۳-substituted polyindole by is ۸.۳ ×۱۰-۴ S/cm.
