A synthesis of imidazo[۲,۱-b]thiazole-۳-carboxylate through thereaction of thiohydantoins and ethylbromopyruvate

Imidazo[۲,۱-b]thiazoles are obtaind in excellent yields from the addition reaction betweenthiohydantoin and ethylbromopyruvate. These imidazo[۲,۱-b]thiazoles in the presence of p-TSA in boilingtoluene refluxed for ۲.۵ hours led to imidazo[۲,۱-b]thiazole-۳-carboxylates in elimination reactions
