The Role of Public Transportation Development in The Urban Economy

Cities followed by services and industries were created to meet human needs. Since the beginning of life, man has been looking for a way to easy and low-cost transportation. Over time, cities became bigger and the need for transportation was felt more than before. If public transportation is inefficient, the city will suffer from problems such as air pollution, traffic, high fuel consumption, etc., all of which prevent the development of the urban economy. For the development of public transportation in society, the cost of public transportation should be affordable, the access of the disabled should be facilitated, the schedule of public transportation should be determined accurately, the government should have a targeted investment on the infrastructure, etc. Also, culturalization and encouraging people to use public transportation can be helpful; For this, the government should provide conditions that make people more willing to use public transportation than private vehicles. In this research, an attempt has been made to explain the role of public transportation in the urban economy based on the review method and library study.
