چکیده مقاله:
Water as the most prominent substance on the earth, needs treatment to use. On the other hand, different impurities with different physical or chemical specifications should be purified by specific additive materials and methods. Application of ultrasonic waves is one of the techniques for the improvement of water treatment process. In this study different applications of ultrasound technology in water treatment process such as organic pollutants degradation, algae removal, disinfection process and membrane filtration were surveyed. There are various parameters that can affect to application and efficiency of ultrasonic in water treatment such as power density, frequency and irradiation time. Although for each special application of US, experimental results are needed for obtain the optimum power density, frequency and irradiation time to reach cost-effective and high application efficiency. It would be suggested that the US technique could be extended to clean up of other polluted parameters in water and environment.
