چکیده مقاله:
COVID-۱۹, one of the most dangerous illnesses all around the world, had a great effect on the education system in schools as well as universities. Most governments ordered schools and universities to decrease face-to-face instruction, and continue teaching through virtual education. This was the greatest challenge for EFL teachers to handle online classes and teach their students the English language virtually. This study aims to investigate the problems of online teaching faced by EFL university professors during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic. The participants were ۷ Iranian EFL university professors from an institute of higher education in Shiraz, Iran. The current study used a qualitative design. Data were obtained from an interview created by the researcher. The results of the interview with the participants indicated that there were ۴ main problems that the participants had faced during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic, including low-power internet connection, sound problems in online classes, lack of communication with students, and physical injuries due to inactivity. These problems should be determined to find solutions for better virtual education in the future.
