چکیده مقاله:
The theories of international relations are mainly the result of the effects of international developments on the existing paradigms and theories. In other words, when paradigms do not have enough analytical and explanatory power to explain the current situation and the causes of events and predict possible future events and processes, competing theories are born. Meanwhile, the theory of realism is one of the dominant paradigms of international relations, which has been widely used to analyze the current events of international relations. This theory by Hans J. Morgenth emerged scientifically with the "Book of Politics between Nations" that was able to present a different definition of the social world in the dimensions of ontology and anthropology in politics and international relations, and despite the criticisms that have been leveled at it from various perspectives, he was still able to do so over three generations. To maintain his dominance by covering theoretical and meta-theoretical weaknesses. This article seeks to answer the question, which of the three generations of realism theory has a more accurate explanatory power regarding the international system? The upcoming research is based on the hypothesis that the theory of neoclassical realism, as the third generation of the realism paradigm, has more accurate explanatory power than the first and second generations. In this research, the method of collecting data and information is library and internet, and the research method is based on descriptive-analytical method.
