چکیده مقاله:

In this article, the design and hydraulic analysis of Golandar rural water supply network in South Khorasan province has been carried out using WaterGEMS software. The population and water demand forecast have been calculated based on the census data of the last ۲۰ years. The spatial and topographic data has been extracted from a standard DEM model of the region. All the network elements have been located, studied and surveyed implementing ArcGIS software and then modeled in WaterGEMS. One of the challenges facing the hydraulic modeling of some transmission pipes in this project was to get a proper analysis for pipelines with a singularity in profile where WaterGEMS software failed to produce consistent solution. Four common techniques to mitigate this deficiency have been then presented and compared with each other and real-world condition. Although none of routine methods are capable of fully reconcile hydraulic model to the real-world conditions, modeling a pressure sustaining valve (PSV) at the singular node has proven that is the best method to both get a consistent software solution and provide the operator with an accurate reference to enable him control and monitor hydraulic parameters during the operation period.
