Introduction of natural enemies of the common pistachio psylla (Agonoscena pistaciae (Hem.:Psyllidae)) in Khorasan Razavi province (Iran)

Common pistachio psylla (Agonoscena pistaciae Burckhardt & Lauterer, 1989), the most important pestof pistachio, is considered as major pest in Khorasan Razavi Province which has several natural enemies. Theaim of this study is collection and identification of natural enemies from Feiz Abad region (Khorasan Razaviprovince) and introduction the most important psyllophagus species through their population density anddistribution area. In order to study, some pistachio orchard were selected randomly from Feiz Abad region.Sampling methods (Limb tapping, net trap and aspirator) were used to evaluate the population of parasitoidsand predators every month. The results showed that among collected coccinellid, Hippodamia variegate(Goeze), Coccinella undecimpunctata aegyptica (Reiche), Coccinella septempunctata (L.), Exochomusnigripennis (Erichson), Adalia bipunctata (L.) and Oenopia conglobata contaminate (Menetries) specieswere the most frequent predators, respectively. Furthermore, other predators were collected such asChrysoperla carnea Stephens, Anthocoris sp. and predatory mites Anystis baccarum (L.). In addition,parasitoid Psyllaephagus pistaciae Ferriere and four hyperparasitoid were collected from mummifiedcommon pistachio psylla which psyllophagus, Syrphophagus aphidivorus (Mayer), Marietta picta (Andre),Pachyneuron spp. and Chartocerus kurdjumovi (Nikol'skaya) had high population, respectively.
