چکیده مقاله:

In the current study, development time and predation rate of immature stages of Typhlodromusbagdasarjani Wainstein & Arutunjan were determined on two-spotted spider mite reared on susceptible(Isfahan) and resistant (Neishabour) eggplant cultivars. All experiments were carried out at laboratoryconditions at 25±1°C, 60±5% RH and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D) h. Based on obtained results, there was nosignificant difference between duration of different immature stages of T. bagdasarjani (except deutonymphstage) on two eggplant cultivars. Duration of different immature stages of this predator (egg, larva, protonymph and deutonymph) on Isfahan cultivar was 2.063, 0.903, 1.885 and 1.876 days, respectively.Furthermore, duration of these periods on Neishabour cultivar was 2.210, 0.912, 1.830 and 2.529 days, respectively. In addition, the predation rate of immature stages of this predator on the two above-mentionedcultivars, had significant difference together. Daily predation rate of protonymph on Isfahan and Neishabourcultivars was 4.791 and 6.801 nymphs, respectively, and daily predation of deutonymph on these cultivarswas 6.690 and 7.703 nymphs, respectively. Total predation rate of all immature stages of T. bagdasarjani onIsfahan and Neishabour cultivars was 21.567 and 33.519 nymphs, respectively. However, our results revealedthat different eggplant cultivars can affect performance of T. bagdasarjani and this predator had higherperformance on resistant eggplant cultivar (Neishabour) than susceptible one (Isfahan).
