چکیده مقاله:
Researchers are performing an experimental formulation of a hydrogel , injected into spinal discs , tosubstantially deliver effective improvement of chronic low back pain caused by degenerative disc disease (DDD) . new research will be presented at the society of Interventional Radiology Annual scientific Meeting onthis image guided procedure that could potentially offer a new treatment for one of the world's commonmedical conditions. after six months all participants in this small study reported less low back pain - decliningfrom an average level of ۷ down to ۲ on a scale of zero to ten . they also reported substantially improvedphysical activity function from ۴۸ to ۶ on a questionnaire. confirmation of these findings in further research ,this image guided procedure may be a very promising treatment for chronic low back pain in those who havefound insufficient relief from conservative care. the gel is easy to administer , require no open surgery and aneasy procedure for the patients. Hydrafil is the gel which used in this study. in ۲۰۲۰ it received FDA'sbreakthrough device designation , which allows expedited review when early evidence suggested anexperimental product product may provide more effective treatment than current option for treating a seriouscondition. we really have no good treatment for DDD . surgery is statistically no more effective thanconservative care. because this gel is injectable , it needs no incision , and it augments the whole disc andrestoring its structural integrity
