Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with boosted performances were obtained with a tri-layeredphotoanode structure. Synthesis of SmFeO۳ inorganic perovskite nanocrystalline material was done bysol-gel process to prepare diverse SmFeO۳/TiO۲ nanocomposite photoanodes of DSSCs. Influence ofSmFeO۳ nanostructure was unveiled on DSSCs performances. The champion device contained ۰.۵%SmFeO۳+TiO۲ composite photoelectrode with PCE=۷.۰۶%, indicating ۲.۶۶ folds (~۶۰%) enhanced PCEcompared to that of device with TiO۲ showing PCE=۴.۴۰%. Hence, perovskite SmFeO۳ incorporation intoTiO۲ photoanode highly boosted JSC values of DSSCs compared to that of the device containing TiO۲ dueto enhanced charge transport within DSSC by declining charge recombination.
