Drug release study of curcumin loaded PAMAM dendrimers

In this study, PAMAM (polyamidoamine) dendrimers were utiliezed as a drug delivery system of curcumin as a model drug. The PAMAM dendrimers were studied by DLS to assess the chemical strucutre and size of the dendrimers. in the presence of curcumin UV spectophotometry was also used to investigate the release profile of curcumin. According to the obtained results, PAMAM dendrimers have the particle size of ۴۳ and ۲۱۲ nm before and after curcumin loading, respectively. It also reveals a significant loading capacity of nearly ۸۰% of curcumin, and it shows sustain release capacity for curcumin.
