The purpose for this study was exploring the relationship between the EFL learners’ listening strategies and their listening achievement among the high school EFL learners. The population of this study was made up of ۶۲ learners. The study used three instruments to collect the data: a questionnaire to discover the learners’ use of listening strategy that was developed byVendergrift (۱۹۹۷). It included ۲۱ items using five point Likert scale that investigates the listening strategies of the subjects. The second instrument was using Nelson Placement Test. The third instrument was using PET test of listening to estimate the listening levels of the subjects. It was finally concluded that different levels of the learners used different listening categories and the difference led to the establishment of meaningful relationship between the levels and the strategy use among the participants of the study. In other words, the use of different strategies can be the cause of difference in the listening achievement of the learners.
