The incidence of drug resistance in tuberculosis became significant and started to increase with the introduction of the first anti-tuberculosis drug in the world in ۱۹۴۳. But unfortunately, following the widespread use of rifampin (which began to be used in the ۷۰s in the ۲۰th century), multidrug-resistant tuberculosis emerged in the world and quickly became a fundamental and threatening problem for the control of tuberculosis in many countries and the world. Became. The aim of this study is to investigate the serum level of interleukins P۷۰ and P۴۰ in patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis.Considering the importance of cellular immunity in drug-resistant tuberculosis infection and disease, this study was conducted in order to find the predictive role of P۷۰ and P۴۰ in the diagnosis of drug-resistant tuberculosis among symptomatic people who were admitted to the educational, research and treatment center for drug-resistant tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases of Dr. Masih Deneshvari Hospital (Tehran, Iran). ) referred, it was designed and implemented. Serum levels of P۷۰ and P۴۰ were measured using ELISA technique. Then, the determined amounts of cytokines were entered into the statistical software to clarify their relationship and predictive character in the diagnosis of drug-resistant tuberculosis.Using the Roc curve, this study succeeded in determining the cut-off level for the serum concentration of P۷۰ and P۴۰ in the diagnosis of tuberculosis, with a sensitivity and specificity of ۶۸% and ۴۶%, respectively. The serum level of P۴۰ did not show any relationship with P۷۰, nor did it show a reliable value in the diagnosis of drug-resistant tuberculosis. In this study, a logical relationship between drug-resistant tuberculosis and higher serum P۴۰ levels was seen, which shows the benefits of this test in solving laboratory limitations, along with the sputum test.
