In an increasingly globalized world, where communication and foreign languages aremore important than they were a few years ago, there is a need to adapt. Today, the Englishlanguage is the language of global communication (Renau, ۲۰۱۶). Among four Englishlanguage skills, Writing is important, because it is commonly used in higher education and atwork. It is not possible for students to connect well with their professors, employers, peers oreveryone else if they do not know how to express themselves in writing. In writing, manyprofessional communications are carried out (Walsh, ۲۰۱۰). Some kind of technology is usedin every language class. improvement in the language learning process have been madepossible through technology. It helps teachers adjust their classroom activities so thatlanguage learning can be enhanced. (Ahmadi, ۲۰۱۸).Computer-Assisted Language Learning(CALL) is playing an important role in teaching English language to English as a ForeignLanguage (EFL) students (Alhujaylan, ۲۰۱۹). This study investigated the effect of CALL onEFL students’ writing fluency. To this end, thirty EFL female students were randomlyselected to participate in this study. First, an Oxford Placement Test (OPT) has beenadministered to these students, in which twenty homogenous learners at intermediate levelcomprised the research sample. Afterwards, the participants were divided into experimental(n=۱۰) and control group (n=۱۰), each with a different teaching system. In order to assesstheir writing ability on the basis of fluency, a narrative task was performed. Finally, two ratersscored the students’productions. t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of the studyshowed that CALL considerably affects writing fluency and the experimental groupperformed better than the control group.
