چکیده مقاله:

Background and aims: Digital innovations such as Mobile phone applications can successfullyencourage patients and families to the self-management of chronic disease. Also, Adherence tochronic disease management such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) is critical to achieving improvedhealth outcomes, quality of life, and cost-effective health care with participation in complicateddisease management strategies. So, these applications should be designed to be learnable, usable, and interesting to patients. This study aimed to evaluate the interface quality of the mobileapplication for kidney transplant candidate patients on the waiting list.Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted in Montaseriyeh Hospital in Mashhad usingMobile Apps Rating Scale (MARS). This multidimensional instrument is a comprehensivequestionnaire for assessing the quality of apps. MARS covers ۴ dimensions, which include engagement(items= ۵), functionality (items= ۴), aesthetics (items= ۳) Information quality (items=۷). Each MARS question was assessed on a ۵-Likert scale range (۱-inadequate, ۲-poor, ۳-acceptable,۴-good, and ۵-excellent). MARS translated from English into Persian. In order to achievehigh-quality translation, the reliability, fluency, and appropriateness of the translated questionnairewere greatly emphasized. Verification of the content validity of translated questionnaireswas carried out by an expert panel (medical informatics experts= ۴ and computer engineers= ۴).Content validity was measured using four experts (one medical informatics specialist and oneIS practitioner with long experience in the mobile business and two potential system users) whowere invited to conduct the expert rating. Results: The interface design of the mobile application for kidney transplant candidate patientson the waiting list was reviewed by ۵ medical informatics specialists and ۵ kidney transplantspecialists. The MARS total score had excellent and the dimensions score were as follows: engagement=۴, functionality= ۴.۵, aesthetics= ۴, and information quality= ۵. The Content ValidityIndex of MARS was ۸۸.۵۲% and the Content Validity Ratio of MARS was ۹۳.۵۷%.Conclusion: Many patients with CKD are currently interested in using the internet and mobilehealth, but few use mHealth apps or have adequate quality. This case application acquired a fairquality score by MARS from experts’ perspectives. The app seems well-trialed for kidney transplantpatients and can be used for kidney transplant centers. Also, in future studies, we suggest thatthe app will test from the patient’s point of view and improved based on their recommendations.
