Introduction: With the advancement of modern technologies in the ۲۱st century, significant progresshas been made in medical education technologies, leading to the increased use of smarthealth technologies in hospitals and improved access to healthcare. As a result, the need for universitiesof medical sciences to adapt to technological advancements has grown, along with thedemands of students, graduates, and society. However, current university processes and infrastructureslack the necessary agility to identify and address these needs effectively. To preparefuture students, graduates, staff, and administrators for the evolving landscape, it is essential toembrace new technologies and innovations in medical education. Transforming medical scienceuniversities into intelligent institutions can provide a cutting-edge solution to these challenges. This study aimed to establish a conceptual framework for a
Smart University of Medical Sciences. Methods: A Scoping Review method was employed to identify the core components and dimensionsof a
Smart University of Medical Sciences, as well as to develop a conceptual framework. This method involved a rapid assessment of key concepts within a specific research topic and anexamination of primary sources and types of evidence. The search was conducted using reliabledatabases, such as PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Scopus, Science Direct, and GoogleScholar, from ۲۰۰۰ to ۲۰۲۲, with the keywords “Smart University” and “Medical sciences.”Findings: The study’s findings led to the design of a conceptual architecture, or Master Plan, for the University of Medical Sciences. This architecture consists of six primary layers: smarthardware infrastructure, smart software infrastructure, connected devices and smart technologies, smart platforms, smart solutions, and smart organizational transformation. The conceptualarchitecture is based on the principle of decentralizing university activities using cloud systemarchitecture. Subsequently, the conceptual framework for a
Smart University of Medical Scienceswas outlined across seven key dimensions. Conclusion: In conclusion, a
Smart University of
Medical Sciences adapts to the dynamic needsof stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, and society) by creatively utilizing advanced technologiesand innovative methods. This facilitates learning, enhances performance, improves the qualityof educational processes, increases management efficiency, and strengthens the health system. As part of a smart city, the
Smart University of
Medical Sciences is a conceptual frameworkcomprising solutions under the headings of smart campus, smart education, smart hospital, smarthealthcare, smart e-learning, smart pedagogy, and smart classroom.
