Bone defects are increasing annually worldwide. Tissue engineering offers a new approach to repairing and regenerating damaged hard tissue by preparing scaffolds. Electrospinning is known as a simple and cost-effective method for fabricating porous bone scaffolds from biocompatible polymers. Electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds can mimic native ECM and thus have found many applications in biomedical engineering. Poly(L-Lactide) is a biodegradable and bioresorbable polymer. In this study, three PLLA-based scaffolds were fabricated via an electrospinning technique at three feed rates of ۰.۶, ۰.۷, and ۰.۸ ml/hr. The results of SEM imaging show that the electrospun scaffold with a feed rate of ۰.۷ ml/hr has a random, uniform, and bead-free nanostructure and is a suitable candidate for use in hard tissue engineering.
