Synthesis of Silver nanoparticles using Medlar shell extract and investigating the effect of silver nitrate concentration on the size of nanoparticles

Silver nanoparticles demonstrate high potential in a wide range of applications. Environmentally friendly synthesis methods are becoming more popular in technologies and the need for ecological methods of synthesis with aim of reducing polluting reactions is increasing. In this present study, silver nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using Medlar shell extract. Therefore, medlar shell extract can be useful for the synthesis of silver NPs. And the effect of two different concentrations on the property of nanoparticles was investigated. The FE-SEM images of nanoparticles of both samples reveal the spherical shape. The obtained results have revealed that the property of silver nanoparticles was similar in both processes except for the size of the nanoparticles. The More carrot extract concentration results in bigger nanoparticles. The EDS analysis shows the presence of Si and O in both samples. From the morphologic aspect, FE-SEM images reveal uniform spherical shape surface morphology in two samples. it can be seen that sample ۲ with less AgNO۳ concentration results in bigger silver NPs compares to sample ۲ with more AgNO۳ concentration. As EDS reveals smaller silver nanoparticles on the sample ۱ absorb less oxygen (۲۱.۸۱) compare to bigger silver nanoparticles on sample ۲ by ۲۵.۹۰. In conclusion, less AgNO۳ concentration in synthesis leads to bigger silver nanoparticles through more oxygen absorption.
