Ultrasonic-assisted synthesis of g-C۳N۴/Clinoptilolite composite: Efficient adsorption of methylene blue

The adsorption method is one of the methods used due to its high efficiency, low cost, convenience and simplicity. In the present research, Graphitic carbon nitride/clinoptilolite (g-C۳N۴/CP) was synthesized based on the ultrasonic method. Typicaly, ۱۶ g of urea was stirred in ۵۰ cc of deionized water for ۱۵ min. Then ۱ g of Clinopetilolate was added to the above solution and subjected to ultrasonic for ۳۰ min. The solution was dried in an oven at ۸۰°C for ۱۲ hr and finally calcined in the oven at ۵۵۰°C for ۲ hr. The XRD pattern of the g-C۳N۴/CP composite and the FT-IR spectrum show that the composite is correctly synthesized. Adsorption of methylene blue (۵ ppm) by synthesized composite (۰.۳ g/l) was invesitigated for ۱۸۰ min. Methylene blue absorption efficiency for bulk g-C۳N۴ and g-C۳N۴/CP composite was ۱۶.۳ and ۶۰.۹%, respectively, and the absorption capacity was ۰.۴۷ and ۲.۲۳ mg/g. The presence of clinoptilolite has improved the methylene blue absorption performance.
