چکیده مقاله:

A caravanserai was a roadside inn where travelers (caravaners) could rest and recover from the day's journey. Eyvanki’s Caravanserai, was one of the first caravanserais located next to one of the main roads of Tehran to Khorasan. Iwan’s are eminent elements and archetypes in Islamic architecture. Therefore, reconstruction of monuments’ structural elements, especially where they are partly demolished to the extent that their original forms are indistinctive, requires extensive research to identify their authentic forms. So many Caravanserais main entrance arch as the focal point of these buildings had been damaged. This article aims to determine the original height of the entrance vault, its authentic ornaments, as well as identifying implementation details of reconstruction action. This paper uses the case study as research method with historical comparative interpretation, and comparative comparison in line with rational argument.Data collection method is mainly field study and literature review.At the end, the status quo of the structure was documented and through comparative comparison with the rest of the existing vaults within the same site, and similar structures, proper methods for reconstruction are proposed. After identifying and analyzing the architecture, the restoration process will be discussed.
