چکیده مقاله:

Geopolymer concrete (GPC) is one of the new materials in the construction industry, which has different chemical compositions. Pozzolanic materials (such as fly ash, blast furnace slag, and rice husk ash) that contain significant amounts of silica and alumina, act as binders in the concrete mixture. The role of binders in geopolymer concrete is to fill voids and create a stable structure in concrete. At the same time, they activate the alkaline process. Among the advantages of geopolymer concrete, we can mention its economic efficiency, less energy consumption, thermal stability, easy implementation, environment-friendly, cement-free and its durability. Considering that the use of geopolymer concrete has a significant effect in reducing cement consumption, therefore, the use of this type of concrete is very important from an environmental point of view and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases (especially carbon dioxide). As a result, geopolymer concrete is considered a suitable alternative to Portland cement and has a significant impact on sustainable development. The purpose of this article is to investigate the capabilities of geopolymer concrete and the impact of using different supplementary cementitious materials on sustainable development and its positive environmental consequences.
