چکیده مقاله:
The effects of directional well geometry remain debatable in most production modeling works. Most of recent reports fail to mention the effects of well geometries. Well trajectory can significantly affect the gas-liquid flow and distribution by increasing or decreasing the probability of erratic production condition such as liquid loading, liquid accumulation, start-up slugging, terrain, or sever slugging along the well. These conditions can lead to different operational problems such as reduction in production, rise in pressure drop, intermittent flow, no flow, increase mechanical fatigue along the completion or surface equipment, increase of the casing and tubing corrosion rate and other problems. Therefore, there is a need to evaluate the effect of well trajectory to avoid or mitigate the existence of such erratic conditions .This study presents a comparison between different well geometries and their effect on production performance of directional wells. The main aim of this research is to investigate the effect of the trajectory on pressure drop. The study utilizes a transient multiphase simulator like OLGA software to mimic the production from directional wells and the process of information processing and problem solving are done by another software. A big thanks to Arvandan oil and gas company (AOGC) in order to help us with field data.
