Analysis of the spatial structure of traditional houses in Gilan using the space syntax method

In traditional societies, the shape of the house and its spatial divisions, before being determined by the climate, materials and technology, are related to the human understanding of the world and their culture. The traditional architecture of Gilan has features that have led to the use of special patterns in architecture to respond to the behavioral and climatic needs of that land. Recognizing these patterns is one of the necessities of the country today, which can lead to the re-creation of the pattern of spatial arrangement in houses and housing design today. Analyzing the shape of a building and understanding the relationships between existing spaces in any spatial configuration is a science that is referred to as space syntax in architectural discussions. In the current research, with the aim of "Analyzing the spatial structure of traditional houses in Gilan using the method of space syntax", analyzing ۱۱ examples of traditional houses in Gilan using Depth Map software, in two indices Visibility and VGA has been discussed and using quantitative and qualitative, descriptive and analytical methods, their features, differences and similarities were extracted and the result was that, "Using new techniques for space analysis, It is possible to decipher spatial organizations and their effects on human activity and vice versa".
