چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this study was to investigate gender differences in speaking performance in online classes by analyzing the data collected through questionnaires and observations. One hundred-fifty advanced students in the language institutes in Shiraz participated in the research, seventy-five females and seventy-five males. The results of the quantitative and qualitative data revealed several differences in the participants’ interaction patterns in virtual classes. The study has provided many recommendations and suggestions for future studies. Afterward, students’ answers were processed electronically and analyzed quantitatively. Results revealed that females have more positive attitudes toward learning to speak in online classes than males.
